CLASSROOM PROCEDURES

·         Turn in any written assignments due at the beginning of class.

·         Check the front board every day at the beginning of class AND follow any directions on the board.

·         Class work may include activities such as lecture, discussions, written activities, demonstrations, reviews/games, group projects, individual and group presentations, and labs.

·         Expect homework MOST nights.  Homework may not always be a written assignment.  Many homework assignments will require that you read a chapter or sections of a chapter.  Some homework may or may not be graded.

·         Quizzes may or may not be announced.  Expect quizzes often.

·         Not all class sections may have the same quiz or have a quiz in a particular day.    Whether a class section is given a quiz is at the discretion of the teacher.

LATE WORK POLICY

Late assignments will only receive full credit with an excused absence.  A field trip does not allow you an excuse to turn in an assignment late.  If you are on a field trip turn in your assignment sometime on the due date.  If assignments have been corrected and returned, you may be given an alternate assignment covering the same content.

If you do not have an excused absence, you will receive a late penalty.  This is the most assured way to fail the course.  In some cases an assignment will not be accepted late, but will be recorded as excused.  This makes your tests/quizzes count more in your grade.

            1 Days Late                -25% (Maximum Score:  75%--F)

            2 Days Late                -50% (Maximum Score:  50%--F)

            3 Days Late                -75% (Maximum Score:  25%--F)

Work is not accepted after three days except in extreme cases.

Assignments which have been passed back or gone over will not be eligible for late points.

All projects must be turned in on due date.  No credit will be given for projects turned in late without an excused absence.

If you are late to class without a pass, or if you do not have your assignment with you at the start of class, late penalties may apply.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

If you know you are going to be absent ahead of time, you should complete an advanced excuse form and see your teacher 1-2 days before being absent to get upcoming work.

If you are absent or late to class, you should refer to the file folders in class containing absent work.  You should also see the teacher to make sure that you did not miss an assessment.

Some information may also be available on the course website.  Or, you can contact your teacher by email or phone.

If you are absent and miss a test or quiz, they should be made up within two class periods.
